- The Problem about Eternal Security: What does it Mean?
- What does it mean?
- national security, military
- internet security, credit and debit card security
- how about the BIG matter….the eternal matter?
- where are you going to be forever and ever?
- does anybody get perfect when they get “saved”
- if sinning gets you kicked out, then NO ONE gets to stay in the family
- if sin gets you evicted and ejected…then the question is, how much sin gets you kicked out?
- does the number go up to 700? 800?
- “once saved, always saved” just a Baptist denomination?
- no….. don’t believe it just because someone said that’s the doctrine.
- We don’t go by denominational doctrine; we go by Biblical doctrine.
- gets saved, baptized, then lives like the devil???
- just getting baptized
- just getting in church
- just shaking hands with the pastor….
- these do not get us into heaven… and into a relationship with Christ..
- What does it take?
- conviction from God’s Spirit.
- convincing….of “I’m not right, but I want to be right…” I believe that Christ rose again…and that Jesus can make me right through His blood.
- I want to be in your family…
- Conversion…. make me a follower…
- giving your past, present, and future to the Lord.
- The question is that, can we get that taken away….
- The truth is that no one lives perfectly before consummation…
- We have not been make perfect just yet.
- If parents can love their kids unconditionally, don’t you think Christ loves us unconditionally too?

- Two that were in a marriage relationship together for 60 something years…died together… and wrote letters…
- Eph. 2:8-9…not by works, so that no one can boast.
- if you could work for it, and earn it…than good works could get it and bad works could lose it…but this is not Biblical….
- What does it mean?

- Romans 8:1…there is NO condemnation for those that are IN Christ Jesus….condemnation means JUDGMENT…
- Romans 8:39….NOTHING can separate us from the love of God.
- We are eternally secure
- John 27….my sheep listen to my voice, and they follow me…NOONE can snatch them out of my hand
- Hebrews 10:14…the sacrifice is good for FOREVER..
- He gives us a permanency.
- Philippians 1:6…. He started a work, and He’ll be faithful to complete the work.
- Hebrews 4:4-6
- getting saved again?? this is impossible
- not a scripture about losing salvation.. this is scripture about people that have never truly found salvation.
- instead, Paul is saying “this is about people who have been exposed to the gospel, but disappear.”
- J. Phillips….tasted but needs more seasoning?? there’s a great difference in tasting the soup, and then fully making a bowl and enjoying it
- A. Rodgers…a person who has never been saved…comes to the threshold, but then comes to the impartible sin.
- There is no record in the Word of God of someone being saved and then being lost again….
- The Perversion of Eternal Security: Can I live any way I want?
- got my ticket to heaven in my pocket…and I can do anything I want to, and I’m in charge of my life….
- these people use this “once saved, always saved” in a perverted way…
- now I can live like I want to…..well, you didn’t get it..
- Romans 10:9…..Confess with your mouth the LORD Jesus….
- Lord means “King”
- means “he’s in charge”
- that doesn’t mean we won’t mess up….
- we may slip and fall
- the difference is
- when a christian falls, there is REMORSE
- it bothers us

- When the christian laps into sin…they loath it.
- When a lost person leaps into sin….they love it.

- If this is the case, you need to check up…. you may not have what you think you have.
- Scenario: “My family used to go to church, but now they don’t go anymore…and I wonder if they are saved.”

- They were either truly saved…and are living miserably
- or they were just never truly became a Christ-follower

- I am my parents’ son… I might disappoint them…but that doesn’t make them a none-christian.
- “Whoever comes to me, I will in no wise cast out.”
- Golden Gate Bridge… a net under the bridge when it was being built… 19 men fell off that bridge, and their lives were saved because of that net.
- They called those that fell into that net “the Half-way to Hell Club.”
- If you are not in the net, you’re one heartbeat away from hell…
- “I was saved yesterday, but am I saved today?” You don’t have to ask this.
